Belmore Stingers' undefeated still alive in Fastball League play

The first-place Belmore Stingers and second-place Brussels Tigers are pulling away from the pack as the second half of the Huron County Fastball League season progresses.
The Stingers remain undefeated with a perfect 11-0 record and 22 points, followed by the Tigers’ 18 points and a record of 9-1.
The Sebringville Sting is in third place with a record of 7-4 and 14 points, followed by the Wingham Hitmen, who also have 14 points with a record of 7-5. The Milverton Millwrights are in fifth place with a record of 6-2 and 12 points, followed by the sixth-place Mitchell Mets at 5-4 and 10 points, the Monkton Muskrats at 4-6 and eight points in seventh place and the Fullarton A’s in eighth place with six points and a record of 3-7.
The ninth-place Goderich Grizzlies also have six points with a record of 3-9, followed by the Brussels Bangers in 10th place with a record of 2-8-1 and five points, the Walton Brewers in 11th place with a record of 2-6-1 and five points and the 12th-place Wroxeter Rippers with a record of 2-8 and four points.
Last Sunday afternoon, the Sebringville Sting travelled to Wingham and beat the Hitmen by a score of 7-4, while the Brussels Tigers made the trip to Wroxeter and beat the Rippers by a score of 6-4. On Sunday night, the Millwrights welcomed the Fullarton A’s to Milverton and won by a score of 7-6.
Last Friday night, the Goderich Grizzlies took on the Sting in Sebringville and won by a score of 8-1.
On Thursday, the Fullarton A’s descended on Monkton to play the Muskrats in a game that was originally scheduled to take place on June 10 and it was the A’s who triumphed by a score of 8-6. Also that night, the Sebringville Sting were in Milverton to play the Millwrights and the Sting won by a score of 2-0.
The July 12 game between the Wroxeter Rippers and Mitchell Mets has been postponed and will be made up at a later date. Also that day, however, the Brussels Bangers travelled to Belmore, but would not jeopardize the Stingers’ perfect record, as the Bangers lost by a score of 12-5. The other Brussels team, the Tigers, was also in action that night, hosting the Wingham Hitmen, but it was the Tigers that would win by a score of 2-1.
The Walton Brewers welcomed the Fullarton A’s to Walton on July 11 and the Brewers came out on top with a 7-1 score, while the Goderich Grizzlies also hosted the Monkton Muskrats that night, but fell to the Muskrats by a score of 18-7.
On July 18, the Belmore Stingers were in Walton to play the Brewers, followed by games on July 19 between the Milverton Millwrights and the Brussels Tigers in Brussels and the Fullarton A’s in Mitchell to play the Mets. The next night, July 20, the Wroxeter Rippers and Milverton Millwrights played in Milverton, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
On July 23, the Goderich Grizzlies will travel to Wroxeter for a game with the Rippers and, on July 25, the Monkton Muskrats will be in Walton for a game with the Brewers.
There are three games scheduled for Wednesday, July 26. The Mitchell Mets will travel to Belmore to play the Stingers, while the Brussels Tigers will host the Fullarton A’s and the Hitmen will welcome the Monkton Muskrats to Wingham.
The Tigers will play on back-to-back nights, as they are on the road on July 27 for a game with the Milverton Millwrights.
The Walton Brewers will make their way north on July 28 for a game with the Brussels Bangers. Also that night, the Belmore Stingers will head to Sebringville for a game with the Sting and the Goderich Grizzlies will host the Wroxeter Rippers.
To end the month, five games are scheduled for July 30. The Walton Brewers will be in Sebringville for a game with the Sting, while the Belmore Stingers will host the Milverton Millwrights. The Brussels Tigers will travel to Goderich to play the Grizzlies and the Fullarton A’s will host the Monkton Muskrats.
The Brussels Bangers will host the Wingham Hitmen that afternoon, making up a game that was scheduled to take place on June 23.
